DZ Design team bring more than 50 years of combined experience of global hospitality design firms and retail groups to the table

DINA MURALI

Dina Murali is our design director and a major creative force behind all of our projects. Always approachable and available for her clients and team alike, Dina never lacks that extra idea, solution or touch, on many occasions making our designs even better than those originally envisaged by the client.

Born in India, Dina has spent most of her life in the UAE. After graduating from BLDEA School of Architecture in India, she went on to work for RC Architecture, with George John and Vijay Dsouza, two design powerhouses who became her most important mentors.

While working at dwp and other large hospitality design firms, Dina gained valuable experience of telling authentic and compelling stories through design and creating spaces that always put people first. From Ramada, Crown Plaza and Radisson to Intercontinental, Hilton and Marriott, she’s done it all.

Some of her latest projects include design work for Oasis Mall in Dubai, Radisson, Citymax, Pullman, Movenpick, and Hilton hotels and one she’s particularly proud of – Emirates Park Zoo and Resort. This recent refurbishment project for a private client was done in two phases, immediately bringing 30% higher occupancy rate.

Described by her clients as “down-to-earth” and someone who brings VALUE to their vision, Dina fully understands the complexities of the business landscape in the Middle East, making her a reliable and trustworthy design expert for hospitality and luxury residential interior projects.

In the next five years, I will continue to break the barriers many Asian architects and designers face in larger firms. Regardless of their talent and expertise, they’re often managing sites and technical packages without client-facing roles. / Dina Murali

ZAIN BELGAMI

With more than 18 years of experience in design and project management across the Middle East and India, Zain, born in Chennai as one of eight siblings and now a father of two himself, is at the helm of business development for DZ Design.

Following work at a studio in Bangalore, he moved to the Landmark Group in Dubai, where he spent 10 years and worked on large scale projects including the Landmark Tower and the Oasis Shopping Mall.

Dina first planted the idea of branching out on their own and the couple chose D3 as they wanted to be at the heart of a creative design community.

As a director of the company, Zain holds the demanding role of taking on responsibility for the overall operation and expansion of the firm across the region.

Among his numerous projects are mixed-use, commercial, retail, leisure, F&B, residential and healthcare, all of which he approaches with the same care, attention to detail and with a people-first philosophy.

A key to the company’s success has been repeat clients who trust the practice, a committed team with professionalism at its core, the ability to listen and understand business partners, and an emphasis on showing value in reaching solutions and applying technical and servicing expertise.

These strategies and approaches enable Zain to provide a detailed translation of the ideas and visions of creative teams into buildable solutions, while also ensuring the complete process meets the three most important aspects in any successful design – cost and budget, time and deadlines, and overall quality.

His top projects include the KGA Group Office, JLT, Dubai, the Bloomsbury Café in Bangalore, Emirates Parks and Zoo Resort, the Bank Of Baroda Office and the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ajman.

The next stage for our design studio is expanding our work to become a global practice in the next five years. We’re already active in India and Africa, we are looking at new and emerging markets to broaden our ability to complete people-first projects. / Zain Belgami
