We’re proud to share that DZ Design has been shortlisted across four categories at the CID Awards 2024: MENA, as revealed by Commercial Interior Design magazine.

Now in its 18th year, the CID Awards: MENA is one of the region’s most prestigious recognitions of design excellence, with this year’s edition drawing more than 700 nominations across 30 categories. To be shortlisted once is an achievement — to be recognised four times over speaks to the breadth of work coming out of the studio this year.

Amaseena, our night-only Arabic restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, JBR, leads the nominations with a place on the shortlist for both Best Use of Lighting in Interior Design and Best Outdoor Design. The project was built around the idea of transformation after dark, with layered lighting — from LED-lit pathways to Arabic lanterns and warm uplighting — guiding guests through a 10,000-square-foot outdoor venue beneath the palm trees of JBR. Terracotta tones, brass detailing and Persian rugs were all chosen to respond to that shift in light rather than to daylight, so seeing the project recognised in both categories feels especially fitting.

Sunny Wellness has also been shortlisted for Interior Design of the Year: Health & Wellbeing, a category that celebrates spaces designed around care, calm and considered detail — recognition that DZ Design’s approach extends well beyond hospitality.

And DZ Design itself has been shortlisted for Boutique Interior Design Firm of the Year, alongside some of the region’s most respected independent studios — a nomination that reflects the strength of the whole team behind every project this past year.

We’re honoured to be shortlisted alongside such a talented field of designers and studios from across the MENA region, and we’re looking forward to the CID Awards: MENA gala at Madinat Jumeirah on September 4.
